What has Amazon Prime gotten into now?

As if we needed another reason to jump onto the Amazon bandwagon, and sign up for Amazon Prime.

Amazon is now teaming up with Olo, a restaurant software system, to provide a food delivery system for Prime members from their favorite restaurants to their doorsteps. This will go and compete against the existing food delivery companies, like UberEats, Postmates, and here locally in Athens with Bulldawg Food. Like competitors, Amazon reaches to work with the popular, well-loved restaurants that do not offer a delivery option to their customers; examples included, Chipotle, Chili's, Applebee's, Red Robin, etc. Although these places offer a to-go option for their customers to order online or over the phone, it requires them to come get their food from the restaurant, where now with Amazon Restaurants, their food can be brought to them.

It's not a hidden fact, that as humans in this day and age, we live a fast-paced life and want everything right when we need it or planned for a certain time convenient with our schedules. Just when you thought food options couldn't get any more accommodating and user-friendly than the ready to-go options, food delivery to your doorstep makes eating easier. Recently, it has become prominent and escalated growth of food-delivery options, from ready to consume food to also healthier options packaged together to make a meal at home. With the popularity of both kinds of food services on the rise, I don't believe this will affect much of business of restaurants and grocery stores. Less foot traffic is always a scary thing, but I think the experience and service one obtains from eating in the restaurant, will keep restaurants thriving and profitable with maybe more consumption of their menu items delivered to people's doorsteps. Fast. Easy. Simple.

The biggest question now is, what reason do you have to NOT have Amazon Prime?
